Once seated, we were served complimentary bread and olive oil. On my last visit to Giovanni's Table on Freedom of the Seas, I felt I did not do a good job ordering, so this time I would try something more on the "seafood spectrum" as means of correcting the experience. It is no secret that Giovanni's Table is an Italian restaurant and there are plenty of Italian favorites to pick from on the menu. Giovanni's Table will not win any accolades purely for its aesthetical looks, but it feels like a restaurant that is distinct from its surroundings and certainly more elaborately decorated than Rita's Cantina. Admittedly, these waves were also responsible for not having the largest of appetites with all of the motion. On our day to eat here, there were waves of 2-4 meters, so we certainly had some action to see.

The restaurant is essentially one large room, with windows making up one wall, that offer an unobstructed view of the ocean. Walking in, the restaurant is rather large and offers seating in a variety of configurations. Located on deck 6, Giovanni's Table is across from the ever popular Schooner Bar. I had no plans to dine at Giovanni's Table, but the tempting favorites along with the lower lunch price swayed my decision on one particular sea day. While aboard Brilliance of the Seas, I just could not resist the temptation to enjoy lunch at Giovanni's Table one more time.

I hope you found this series helpful and hope you will subscribe to my blog and share it with your friends and families.Of all the Royal Caribbean specialty restaurants available, few have spread as far and as wide as Giovanni's Table has, especially given how relatively new it is to Royal Caribbean. While smoking inside the ship completely bothers me to the point it could ruin a planned night out on the ship, others might not mind the smoke. Please remember these are my opinions and may differ from others. Had we known it was that far away, my husband would either have dropped us off then parked, or paid to park at the terminal. We ended up carrying all of our luggage over 1/2 a mile from the parking deck to the terminal. Parking at the port was confusing, so it would be helpful if Royal Caribbean re-wrote the parking instructions on their website for the Port of Tampa. When we brought it to guest services' attention, they apologized and things got better. For one, we needed fresh towels and secondly, we love seeing towel animals each night. Also, we only got a towel animal ONE night, which was very sad for us. Unfortunately, our room was not turned down for two days. Having our room serviced is important to us. This ended up being a HUGE PROBLEM when one of the younger kids was lost and we could not find her.

There was no formal way of communicating with your party while on the ship (no app, no portable stateroom phones). We felt the food in the main dining room was bland, lacked presentation, and was redundant, while the ice cream was not always available on this ship the way it is on others.

I would love to have seen a little more variety on the menus. Therefore, the rest of the menu stayed the same. Unfortunately, only one appetizer, entree, and dessert changed on the menu in the Main Dining Room each night.

It would be nice to have drink packages that come with a limit to drinks, for example, 5 drinks per day plus a bottle of wine package, or 10 drinks per day, etc. Therefore, we found ourselves searching for food for the kids in the middle of the day.Īs with most cruise lines, the drink package is expensive, so we paid a la carte. There are no food and snack options at all times of the day. For us, this was fine, but we did miss ordering the late-night snacks on Disney Cruise Line after we were settled in.

Where some cruise lines offer free room service, you have to pay for room service on Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. I suggest Brilliance of the Seas get the Freestyle machines, like Oasis of the Sea, so we don’t dehydrate on our vacation!

Not-to-mention, one side of Windjammers’ soda counter was out-of-order, so the lines were always long on the one side that was in working order. To my surprise, there were no self-serve soda stations on Brilliance of the Seas.
